FAQ
- What is Accelerated Training?
- Accelerated Training simply means training on a full-time basis. Accelerated training allows pilots to continue with training without constant gaps or interruptions in training. Experience has shown accelerated training to be very efficient and cost effective.
- How long does the average student take to complete the Accelerated Instrument Training Course?
- If the weather does not cause any major delays, the average student can complete the course in about seven to ten days.
- What aircraft do you have available for me to fly?
- For those pilots who do not wish to bring an airplane with them we have Cessna 172s available. If you prefer, you can bring your personal airplane with you to train in to maximize the benefit of your training.
- What happens if I need to stay longer then seven to ten days?
- In the event that we encounter unusually bad weather or mechanical difficulties with an aircraft, it is possible that your training could extend beyond the 10 days. If you need to stay longer than 10 days due to weather, aircraft difficulties, or to become proficient, there will be no additional charges for the training. We do understand that your time is valuable and will do everything possible to make sure that you have completed your course in the 7-10 days.
- How long will I be training every day?
- We will be training for about 6 to 8 hours a day at a moderate pace. We provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where you can learn at your own pace. You will have a small amount of material to review during your own time in the evenings.
- Can I take the written test at your location?
- You can take your written test prior to arrival or we have a written testing facility available within 30 minutes by air. We can work together on this to do whatever best fits your needs and schedule.
- What radios does my airplane need to be used for the training?
- Minimum requirements for the IFR airplane can be found in FAR part 91.205. The airplane should be capable of flying every maneuver in the Instrument Practical Test Standards. The aircraft must be capable of flying one precision approach and two different types of non-precision approaches. If your airplane is not equipped with an NDB or IFR approved GPS give us a call and we will discuss what options we have.
